WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- The Whitman College women's soccer team hopes to get back on the winning track when it hosts Lewis & Clark College at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Whitman Athletic Fields.

The Missionaries slipped past Lewis & Clark 1-0 earlier this season in Portland. Corina Gabbert, assisted by Alisa Larson-Xu, scored the game's only goal early in the first half and keeper Courtney Porter and her defense posted the shutout.

A victory Saturday would snap an injury-plagued four-game losing streak for Whitman, which heads to the weekend with a 6-6-1 Northwest Conference record. It also would keep the Missionaries in fourth place in the conference standings with two games left in the season.

Lewis & Clark, which has lost four of its last five games, is in seventh place in the NWC with a 3-8-1 record.
