The PSR contingent is one of 16 teams entered in the youth division (ages 15, 16) at the USA Volleyball High Performance Championships, which run Wednesday through Sunday at the Tucson Convention Center.

Papineau and other coaches involved in the USA Volleyball High Performance program in Seattle held try-outs and hosted a three-day camp before finalizing the 10-player roster. Players on the roster represent several high schools in the Puget Sound area, including Olympia, Capital, Puyallup,  Marysville-Pilchuck, Annie Wright, Emerald Ridge, Jackson, and Eastside Catholic.

The PSR team begins tournament play at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday against a group of Ohio Valley all-stars.

Papineau, who played collegiately at the University of Washington, begins her second coaching season at Whitman in August. She has coached in the High Performance summer program for the past four years. USA Volleyball operates the High Performance program as a "pipeline" for young volleyball athletes who aspire to reach the elite level of the sport.
