WALLA WALLA, Wash.—“In One Room,” a documentary play written by Whitman alum Jimmy Maise, class of 2002, will be presented on the Whitman campus Thursday, Sept. 21, through Sunday, Sept. 24.
The play, based on interviews with college-age gay, lesbian and bisexual people from around the country, explores many issues including coming out, family, religion, politics, gender and sexuality. “In One Room” will be presented on Thursday, Sept. 21, in Kimball Auditorium, Hunter Conservatory, at 8 p.m.; on Friday, Sept. 22, in Olin Hall Room 130 at 8 p.m.; on Saturday, Sept. 23, in Kimball Auditorium at 8 p.m.; and on Sunday, Sept. 24, in Kimball Auditorium at 2 p.m. There is no charge for the play, but free tickets should be picked up at the Whitman College Bookstore.
“In One Room” was the result of a winning project proposal for Whitman’s 2001-2002 David Nord Award in Gay and Lesbian Issues. It has since shown in Walla Walla, Chicago and New York. For more information please call 527-5156.
