WALLA, Wash.—Winter holidays from around the
world will be celebrated with food, music, crafts and more in a one-hour event
on the Whitman College campus Friday, Dec. 9.
Whitman’s Intercultural Center
will sponsor the annual Festival of Lights from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the Young
Ballroom, Reid Campus
Center, 280 Boyer Ave., Whitman College
campus. Members of the Whitman and Walla
Walla communities are invited to attend. For more

groups from the Walla Walla
community will perform, and Whitman soloists and musical groups will also be
involved. Campus diversity clubs will have booths or workshops available to
creatively inform guests about how winter holidays are celebrated around the
world. Club Latino, for example, will present a traditional Mexican laPosada,
which will include a musical presentation followed by members of the club serving
a special holiday bread to the audience.
