WALLA WALLA, Wash.-- An exhibition of prints and books representing Ruth Lingen’s long and successful career as an artist will be on display at the Sheehan Gallery in Olin Hall through Friday, Dec. 9.

 The exhibit features collaborative efforts representing Lingen’s  20-year career as printmaker and book artist. Lingen, a lecturer of art at Whitman, has collaborated with many well-known artists including Jim Dine, Robert Creely and KiKi Smith.

 The Sheehan Gallery is open Tuesday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. It is closed during college holidays. For more information or for a tour, please contact gallery director Ian Boyden at (509) 527-5249 or boydenih@whitman.edu. 

 Lingen, who earned an MFA from the University of Madison, Wisconsin, in 1984 and her BFA at the University of South Dakota, is a master printer associated with Pace Editions, a limited edition print publisher in New York City. She is also the proprietor of Poote Press, publishing limited editions books with artists using both traditional and innovative letter press, papermaking and bookbinding techniques. Her work is in many public and private collections, including the Art Institute of Chicago.
