Dear Students,
In accordance with recommendations of the Washington State Department of Health on controlling coronavirus on campuses, we are modifying our excused absence policy so that students do not need a note from a health care provider to be excused from class due to illness.
This change will take effect immediately and will be in effect until further notice.
It is imperative for the health and safety of others that all members of our Whitman Community stay home if you are feeling sick.
If you are sick please let your professors know. You are still responsible for completing all coursework assigned.
If you become Ill with a fever, cough, or difficulty breathing AND have traveled from a country at Level 2 or Level 3 Travel Health Notice in the last 14 days do not go to the Welty Health Center but call immediately for further instruction at 509-527-5295.
As always, if you are in immediate medical distress, please call 911.
Staying home when sick, washing your hands, and keeping your hands away from your face are still the best way to prevent the coronavirus from spreading.
