Opening Doors to Whitman

Whitman is one of the few U.S. colleges committed to meeting the full demonstrated financial need of all students. Your gifts to the Whitman Annual Fund help fulfill that commitment—now and in the future. Yearly gifts also help support merit and other scholarships. Together, these funds help make Whitman’s 10% Promise possible: a guarantee that new students will never pay more than 10% of their family’s income toward tuition.

Impact in Action

“My time at Whitman has genuinely been life-changing. There are so many opportunities to explore parts of yourself you never even knew … to try new things and meet such amazing people. I have met some of the most wonderful, kind, beautiful people here.”

Jibreel Penick ’28 is making the most of his Whitman experience—thanks in part to scholarships and aid. A Computer Science major from Sumner, Washington, Penick is busy in and out of the classroom—building deep connections, stepping outside his comfort zone and honing the critical-thinking skills and other capabilities that make a liberal arts education so valuable.
