Outdoor Air Quality

Lingering smoke and increased particle pollution from wildfires and other atmospheric events can occasionally impact the air quality for the Walla Walla Valley. Whitman College will respond to outdoor air quality issues according to the Outdoor Air Quality and Wildfire Smoke Policy. This policy is based on best practices identified by the State of Washington’s Labor and Industries Division of Occupational Safety and Health and informed by the Northwest Conference Athletics Air Quality Policy.
