August 6, 2020: COVID-19 Testing on Campus
Dear members of the Whitman Community,
In an effort to keep our campus community as safe as possible, any faculty, staff or student planning to be in any campus spaces during the fall semester must be tested for COVID-19 prior to the start of classes. Even if you have been on campus working throughout the summer, you must be tested.
To that end, the college will provide COVID-19 testing free of charge from August 19 through August 22. A mobile lab from Lynx Healthcare will administer the tests and will provide results in 24 to 72 hours.
To sign up for a testing time slot, fill out this form with your personal information. After you answer some questions about your health, you will be asked to select a testing time. All the health information aside from your COVID test result is confidential and will not be provided to the college.
You must register for the test by Friday, August 14. The lab will also leave behind a limited number of tests to be administered by the health center for those unable to attend during the in-person testing period.
The deadline to have your COVID test complete is the first day of classes. If you have not had a test by this date, you will not be authorized to be on campus even if you had been working on campus previously. We strongly encourage every member of the Whitman community who will be in Walla Walla to get tested, even if you don’t currently plan to be on campus this semester.
Right now most testing providers in Walla Walla will not do preventative testing and will only administer COVID tests if symptoms are present so I urge you to take advantage of this testing opportunity.
