Group Counseling offers students an opportunity to identify with persons who have similar personal difficulties or concerns. A safe, confidential group setting encourages students to gain insight, increase self-awareness, and learn alternative ways of looking at and coping with personal problems. Some past groups have included:

  • Interpersonal Growth
  • Managing Anxiety
  • Grief/Loss
  • Men’s Group
  • Sexuality Group
  • Addiction (substances or gambling)
  • Effective Coping Skills
  • “The Four Agreements” book study
  • “Making Meaning” Group
  • Cancer Support Group (for students who have loved ones with Cancer)

If you are interested in a group and have not yet spoken with a counselor, please contact Karene Gonzalez at 527-5195 or gonzalkm@whitman.edu.
