Portrait of Ari MelencianoAri Melenciano is a designer, creative technologist and researcher who is passionate about exploring the relationship between various forms of design and sentiment experiences. She is a creative technologist at Google’s Creative Lab, teaching and research fellow at NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Graduate Program, and founder of Afrotectopia, - a social institution fostering interdisciplinary innovation at the intersections of art design, technology, Black culture and activism. Her award-winning work has been supported and exhibited by a variety of institutions including Sundance, New Inc, The New York Times, and the Studio Museum of Harlem. She is often guest lecturing at universities around the world. She is based in Brooklyn, NY.

Sugi Dakks

Portrait of Sugi DakksA college graduate in Jazz Piano and Cupsi National Slam Poetry semi-finalist, artist Sugi Dakks dual interests in poetry and music merged into the jazz-tinged hip-hop sound that is Sugi Dakks. Sugi Dakks has been performing live shows around Los Angeles, including multiple protest oriented events. The live show includes real instrumentation combined with a dynamic blend of piano playing and rapping from Sugi Dakks. His music has amassed a solid following and has been showcased on the hit series, "Power." Also an established producer, Sugi has credits on Grammy Award Winning Artist Wale's latest album, "Wow... That's Crazy", which peaked at #5 on Billboard's Top 200 Charts as well as Grammy Nominated artist Chika's debut EP, "Industry Games."

Michelle Mukasa

Block IV (2:45-3:45)

Image of Michelle MukasaMichelle Mukasa is a spoken-word poet who advocates for social change, restorative justice and racial healing through the art of story-telling. She is currently an undergraduate at Washington State University studying Industrial Organizational Psychology and a soldier in the United States Army.
