Walla Walla Community College, Walla Walla University and Whitman College are coming together to celebrate the work and life of Martin Luther King Jr. These events are open to the college communities and the greater Walla Walla community.
Letter from Birmingham Jail
3 p.m.
Join Whitman Teaches the Movement to read Dr. King’s Letter from Birmingham City Jail and to discuss its wider application to principles of civil disobedience, nonviolence and current events.
MLK Peace Program
4 p.m.
Come together to view performances and pieces that embody Dr. King’s achievements, teachings and enduring influence. Led by Margarita Banderas, Walla Walla Community College.
