Your Student's Right to Privacy:
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) guarantees that your student has some control over the educational records kept by the College. Some of the information is public and other information is private. We cannot discuss your student's account details unless they have given us prior permission by completing the 'Account Authorization' item on my.whitman.edu. A complete “Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974” (FERPA or Buckley Amendment) is available in the Dean of Students Office.
Additional information regarding privacy and access to personal information is available here. You may also find the College Catalog helpful. You can download a pdf version of the catalog here. Full meal plan descriptions start on page 338 of the 2016-2017 Catalog.
