Etasha Bhatt
Etasha Bhatt ’09 credits Whitman with providing the academic foundation for her career in medicine and orthopedic surgery. As a student, she majored in Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Molecular Biology, where she developed an appreciation for scientific inquiry through undergraduate research and close faculty mentorship. She remains grateful for Whitman’s collaborative learning environment, commitment to developing thoughtful, well-rounded leaders, and the lasting connections that shaped her experience. As an alumna, she has returned to Walla Walla for alumni events, supported prospective students through the admissions process, and continues to be inspired by the diverse experiences and perspectives of Whitman’s alumni community.
Dr. Bhatt is an orthopedic hand and upper extremity surgeon at Twin Cities Orthopedics in Minnesota. Her clinical practice requires collaboration, leadership, thoughtful clinical judgment, and a strong commitment to patient care. She regularly mentors medical trainees and students interested in pursuing careers in healthcare and is particularly committed to supporting women pursuing careers in orthopedic surgery. These experiences have strengthened her ability to guide others, foster professional development, and build supportive networks—skills she brings to her service on the Whitman Alumni Board.
As a member of the Whitman Alumni Board, Dr. Bhatt hopes to strengthen alumni engagement and create opportunities for alumni to mentor and support current students, particularly those exploring medicine and the health professions.
