Q: My spouse and I share an email address; how do we create our own pages?
A: Most email providers allow you to create a "throw-away" email address attached to your inbox. For example, in Google-enabled email you can (+) to the prefix: jandjdoe@gmail can become jandjdoe+john@gmail or jandjdoe+jane@gmail. You can create individual pages with your “throw-away” email address, but will still receive verifications/notifications to your regular email inbox.
Q: Can I share a page with my spouse?
A: Members are encouraged to have their own pages. While you can share a page with your spouse, the Lookbook is designed for individuals, not couples. Some responses may become confusing when trying to specify who received what degree, for example.
Q: How do I share a video?
A: You can upload videos to your pages via a URL (webpage address), but those videos MUST be on a web-hosted platform (such as YouTube). You will not be able to upload videos directly from your personal devices. However, most platforms allow you to make your videos private, so they can only be shared via URL and aren't viewable by the general public.
Q: What is "tagging" and how do I do it?
A: "Tagging" allows you to identify friends and classmates in the photos and responses you post to your page. IF the class member has a page in the book, you can @TheirName and the system will bring up a list of individuals. Simply click on the name of your friend and they will be notified of your mention. If your classmates' names do not appear, encourage them to login and create their own pages!
Q: My friend isn't in the book, how do I add them?
A: Classmates with current emails in our Whitman database have pre-verified access to create their pages. For those who have not received an invite, they can request access from the login page (button above) with their email address or call Jaimee at (509) 527-5052.
