The Student Engagement Center presents the first-ever Resume Challenge: a low stakes, low risk student contest where we select an exceptional resume for each class year. There is nothing to risk but reward! Winners are awarded a bookstore swag bag filled with goodies and apparel plus be featured on SEC social media and winning resumes are immortalized as an example for others to reference.
To enter, begin by creating/improving your resume using these resources and having a conversation with our  Student Career Advisors. Then, finalize your submission by submitting your resume to the Handshake posting named "Resume Challenge - Student Engagement Center".

Refine your resume and Review your progress

  • Attend virtual drop-in hours or schedule a resume review with Student Career Advisors or SEC staff to get professional opinions and suggestions to really boost your chances of winning.
  • Watch the Resume Challenge webinars below for beginner and pro tips to refine your resume.

Step 3

Submit your resume on Handshake

  • Submit your resume to the Resume Challenge posting on Handshake.
  • While you are at it, upload your resume to your Handshake profile & sync it to your LinkedIn to strengthen your online presence!

Judges, Prizes & Winners

Resumes will be reviewed by a panel of professionals representing various industries, including Whitman alumni. A total of 4 prizes will be awarded, one for each class year. Winners will receive Whitman Bookstore swag, be featured on SEC social media and their resumes will be posted on our website as examples to guide others. Resume Challenge winners will be announced during the second week of May. Do you have what it takes to win this challenge?
