Is RaiseMe free?
Yes. RaiseMe is free for high school students. The program is paid for by charitable foundations, colleges, and other funders. To sign up, go to www.raise.me/join/whitman and create an account.
Are these real scholarships?
Yes! Whitman partnered with RaiseMe to allow you to earn scholarships during high school and help you see how you can become a competitive candidate at Whitman. When you earn scholarships on RaiseMe, we guarantee that these scholarships will be included in your financial aid package after you are admitted.
Who can use RaiseMe?
Students who are in grades 9 through 12 and attend high school in the United States can use RaiseMe.
Who's eligible to earn micro-scholarships?
Whitman's RaiseMe scholarships are available to prospective first-year students who attend high school in the United States and have a high school GPA of at least 3.0.
How do I get started?
Start by creating an account on RaiseMe. Once you create your account, follow Whitman College and add your activities and achievements to your portfolio.
How do I receive these scholarships from Whitman?
Complete your profile on RaiseMe and follow Whitman College by November 1 of your senior year. If you apply to Whitman College and are accepted for admission, the scholarships you earn on RaiseMe from Whitman will be included in your financial aid package.
I'm in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade. Can I earn scholarships for things I achieved earlier in high school?
Yes. You can fill in your high school portfolio retroactively with achievements going back to the start of 9th grade. The more complete your portfolio is, the more opportunities you have to earn micro-scholarships.
How often should I add achievements to my portfolio?
You should add achievements as frequently as you can throughout high school. Adding achievements to your portfolio increases your eligibility for earning scholarships from Whitman College.

Can I use the scholarships I earn from Whitman's RaiseMe program to pay the cost of attending another school?
No. Micro-scholarships cannot be transferred between colleges. You can only use the scholarships that you earn from one college towards the cost of attending that college–not another school.
Which courses should I add to my portfolio?
You should add all of your courses from grades 9 through 12 to make sure Whitman awards you the correct scholarship amount.
Can the RaiseMe scholarship be used in addition to other scholarships from Whitman?
The final total of scholarships you earn on RaiseMe represents a guaranteed minimum amount of scholarship or grant aid you will receive in your Whitman College financial aid package. If you receive a larger scholarship based upon other factors during the admission application, then that package will include the amount that you earned on RaiseMe.
