Why I Chose Whitman

Whitman College was the only school that flew me up to visit and it ended up being the only college visit my family could do. It was also the only school that had a combined major of Environmental Studies and Biology that gave me the best of both worlds.

Favorite Things to Do in Walla Walla

Grabbing food from Taqueria, watching the sunsets, and playing volleyball with my friends.

Favorite Spot on Campus

The science building next to the fish tanks.

My Advice for Going Through the College Process

I would have told myself to not be afraid to apply to my "reach" schools. I would also start preparing for the SAT earlier and try to take a test my sophomore year instead of just my junior year.

Fun Facts about Me

I absolutely love the ocean whether it is surfing, sailing, fishing, spearfishing, net fishing, or shell hunting. I also really enjoy hiking and learning about the flora in the mountains of Hawaii. Another fun fact is that I highly dislike chocolate and when I was a little kid I would actually gag at the smell of it.

Best Class I've Taken on Campus

Marine Biology.

Favorite Campus Traditions

Getting food from café 66 with my freshman roommate at least once a month. I also enjoy attending the drive-in on Reid Side Lawn. Finally, the spring doubles volleyball tournament is fun to attend and watch.
