Hometown: Bothell, WA
Why you chose Whitman: When I was applying to colleges, I applied to many large-sized colleges because I thought that was part of the "real" college experience. However, I was offered a remarkable opportunity to visit Whitman through the Visit Scholarship Program (VSP) during the spring of my senior year. During the few days that I was at Whitman, I was amazed by the tight-knight and supportive community that I saw, as well as the incredibly welcoming and genuine students and staff that I met. During my last day of VSP, my parents called to ask me about my thoughts on the school. As I walked around Ankeny Field, I told them "I think this could be my new home."
Favorite things to do in Walla Walla: Spend time at the Patisserie, eat brunch at Maple Counter Cafe, stargaze, go to Food Truck Night, and frolic in the wheat fields.
Favorite spot on campus: Cleveland Commons.
What advice you'd give yourself when you were going through the college process: Choose a college that you want to attend, rather than a college you think your family and friends want you to attend. College is a transformative and memorable place, so pick one where you could see yourself grow and be happy in.
Fun Fact(s) about yourself: I was in a commercial with Julie Andrews and Madison Pettis when I was younger!
Best class you've taken on campus: Sociology 369: Social Stratification.
Favorite campus traditions: College cabin with my residence hall section, hanging out with people on Ankeny Field, and pinging.
