Why you chose Whitman: During my college search I knew I wanted to attend a small liberal arts school somewhere in the Pacific Northwest Region, but it wasn't until reading the book "40 Colleges That Change Lives" that I heard of Whitman. Living next to a large private college in my busy suburban hometown, I was looking for a college that emphasized small class sizes, a laid back yet academically rigorous atmosphere, and a unique location away from home, all factors that Whitman fit perfectly.
