Authorized User Access

In accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Whitman College protects the privacy of student financial records. Because of these federal regulations, college staff can only discuss billing details, financial aid balances, and payment arrangements with the student or individuals whom the student has formally designated as an Authorized User.

An Authorized User is granted independent secure login credentials to view the student account dashboard, track real-time billing activity, make online payments, and manage monthly installment plans.

Action Required: System Reset on July 15

Because Whitman College has upgraded to a highly secure new platform powered by Flywire, all prior parent/guardian login credentials, saved payment profiles, and access permissions have been reset. To regain access to view or pay bills, your student must log in to the new system on or after July 15th to send you a brand-new Authorized User invitation.

What Authorized Users Can Do Inside the Dashboard

Once your student grants you access, you will have your own customized portal dashboard where you can:

  • View Live Account Activity: Monitor tuition charges, course fees, housing costs, and meal plan changes as they happen.
  • Review Financial Aid: See how pending grants, scholarships, and accepted loans directly offset the semester balance.
  • Make Safe Online Payments: Submit payments via eCheck (completely free) or credit/debit cards (subject to a non-refundable convenience fee). Setting up automatic recurring payments (Auto-Pay) is entirely optional.
  • Own a Monthly Payment Plan: Enroll in an optional monthly installment plan to spread costs across the semester. The user who sets up the plan becomes the official "Plan Owner" and is responsible for managing its schedule.
