Wa-Hi students at ASE TutoringAdvanced Studies Enrichment (ASE) is a program sprouted from a discussion in 2013 with the principal and teachers of Wa-Hi who recognized that AP students could use some extra support.  With a generous grant from Pacific Power, Whitman developed a weekly tutoring program to support all the AP Science and Math students at Wa-Hi.

Each Monday and Wednesday evening, Whitman tutors gather in the Hall of Science armed with snacks, textbooks and knowledge to share.  Our tutors enjoy helping Wa-Hi students find their way through metabolic pathways, structural formulas, mutations, lipid bilayers, dimensional analysis, cell biology, differential equations, and genetics.

This program offers Wa-Hi students a great study environment, help understanding new and challenging concepts and a peek at the college environment.  Our Whitman students get the opportunity to try out their teaching skills, help others, problem solve and engage with their community.

Whitman students are available Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7-9 PM to discuss topics, go over problem sets, dig deeper into the subjects, and answer questions.   The opportunity is open to all students enrolled in AP or CP science and math classes in Walla Walla Valley schools.  We provide study snacks and a great study environment.
