Music Talent Scholarship
Students with an interest and commitment to music are invited to apply and audition for the Music Talent Scholarship. These are four-year renewable scholarships that are awarded to new Whitman College students who demonstrate outstanding musical talent or potential, regardless of major.
What It Means To Be a Scholarship Recipient
Throughout their time at Whitman, recipients must be perform in at least one of our designated musical ensembles, which include Chorale, Collaborative Piano, Jazz I or II, Orchestra or Wind Ensemble.
All recipients also receive additional lesson scholarships on their respective instruments and are encouraged to take Music courses to further develop their skills.
How To Apply
The scholarship application requires an audition for brass, percussion, piano, strings, voice, wind, and all orchestral instruments. Ideally, your audition should include two contrasting examples of your best work. Deadlines
If you are applying Early Decision, your scholarship application is due five days after the application deadline. If you are applying for Regular Decision, you have until Jan. 22, 2026, to get your scholarship application in.

Talent Scholarship applications are available in the applicant portal after you submit your Whitman admission application.
