Xiaocheng Yu

she/her
Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology

Ph.D., University of Kentucky

Yu's research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying plant interactions and gene regulation. During her Ph.D., she studied the genetic mechanisms underlying symbiotic interactions between legumes and nitrogen-fixing rhizobia, with a focus on how plants recognize and select compatible microbial partners. Her postdoctoral research expanded into plant epigenomics, where she investigated how DNA methylation influences transcription factor binding and gene regulation.
