Nate Tomsheck has spent over 15 years teaching and serving as a technical director in a small liberal arts setting. Prior to coming to Whitman, Tomsheck served as the resident scenic and lighting designer at LaGrange College.
Show credits of note while at LC include "Sweeney Todd," "Metamorphoses" "Smokey Joe's Café," "Little Shop of Horrors," "The Maids," "The 39 Steps" and "The Cherry Orchard." Tomsheck also freelanced as a technical director and scenic designer in South Atlanta, Georgia. Show credits include: "Love Letters," "Brighton Beach Memoirs," "Spitfire Grill" and "Smoke on the Mountain."
In addition to theatrical work, Tomsheck worked with the Hills and Dales Estate designing and constructing flower show exhibits for the Southeastern Flower Show of Atlanta.
At Whitman, Tomsheck has focused his energy on streamlining production processes at Harper Joy Theatre, upgrading its scene shop and expanding technical course offerings. In his spare time, Tomsheck is an avid woodworker and gardener, although those take a back seat to his wife, Laura, and son, Asher.
