Edward F. Arnold Visiting Professor of Composition and Rhetoric


Victor Villanueva is the Edward F. Arnold visiting professor of composition and rhetoric. He is Regents Professor, Edward R. Meyer Distinguished Professor and director of the University Writing Program at Washington State University. He was a former editor of the Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC) "Studies in Writing and Rhetoric" monograph series, former head of the CCCC, the 1999 Rhetorician of the Year, the 2008 recipient of the NCTE Advancement of People of Color Leadership Award, and the CCCC 2009 Exemplar, among other awards and honors, most notably two national awards for "Bootstraps: From an American Academic of Color." With eight books, over 50 articles or chapters in books, and over 100 talks, his work centers on the connections between language and racism.
