Annaliese Baker

Visiting Associate Professor of Theatre and Costume Director

Annaliese is a theatre artist with 20 years of professional and postsecondary work, teaching and working professionally both nationally and internationally. As a "multi-hyphenate", Annaliese explores performance in multiple facets: directing (Arkansas, Northern California, and Iowa), the design of over 100 performances (live theatre and film/television), and served as the managing director/artistic director of the Paradise Per-forming Arts Center. Their theatre designs have been featured both in the Prague Quadrennial and the World Stage Design competitions. Annaliese has also served as a visiting evaluator for the National Association of Schools of Theatre and is active both in The Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival and The United States Institute for Theatre Technology. Annaliese's scholarship has taken them to Southeast Asia, researching and teaching in Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, and China. Annaliese's current area of training takes them to the burgeoning field of intimacy direction and how it frames itself within the collaborative process... from actor to crew. Annaliese is also a member of United Scenic Artists, Local USA 829.
