Peer Academic Coaches for Sophomores
New this fall, Anna Johnston and Maggie Weeks are the Peer Academic Coaches for Sophomores! Anna and Maggie are both seasoned Student Academic Advisors (SAs) from 2019. They are your people for all the things that SAs do, but for Sophomores! You can book a time to finesse your knowledge about scheduling, help with creating a routine, brush up on note taking, test prepping, and more. Hello! My name is Anna Johnston and I am from Ogden, UT. I am a junior English major at Whitman College with a passion for animal facts and colored pens. Here at Whitman, I am editor-in-chief of quarterlife (our littlest literary magazine), a dancer, a trip leader for the Outdoor Program, and a yoga club leader; however, you will most frequently see me around campus trying to befriend ducklings. As part of the Academic Resource Center team, I can help you with organization, study habits, class enthusiasm, the writing process, and how to manage your class workloads alongside other activities. I am so excited to talk to you soon!
Hello! My name is Maggie Weeks and I am a Junior Anthropology major at Whitman. I’m from Minot, North Dakota, and my favorite academic thing to do is read and write. I enjoy playing guitar, being with friends and family, listening to podcasts, and doing yoga and rock climbing. I am also planning on going to Law school after I graduate from Whitman! Some of my academic strengths are prioritizing and managing my time, and writing essays is my jam.
