The Academic Resource Center connects students who are competent in a specific subject with students who have requested additional assistance in that area. Tutor applicants must be available to work with the student(s) weekly.

Application Details and Hiring Process

You can apply to be a tutor by downloading and filling out our Tutor Application. Please e-mail the application to Antonia Keithahn or drop it by the Academic Resource Center in Memorial 325.

The pay rate for being a tutor is $11/hr.

Once we receive your application, we will schedule a time for you to meet with Antonia Keithahn, Academic Resources Program Coordinator, for a brief individualized orientation to the Tutor Program. Thanks so much for applying to be a tutor!

Hiring decisions will be based on applicant qualifications and program needs. If we believe you would be a good match for a student who has come to our office seeking assistance, we will contact you via e-mail.


  1. Overall GPA of 3.0 or better
  2. Grade of A or B for the course(s) you'll be tutoring
  3. Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to clearly explain course material
  4. Available for tutoring sessions during times that coincide with the requesting student.
