Request a Workshop or Dialogue

Pre-set workshop curricula are currently in development. In the meantime, you can request a custom workshop or facilitated dialogue for your group, class or department by filling out the form linked below. Common topics include “Pronouns 101,” inclusive pedagogy and how to be in solidarity with LGBTQIA2S+ people in your community. We will work with you to develop an educational experience that meets your needs and learning goals. 

• Workshops have a structured agenda and include a mix of activities, reflections, worksheets, large and small group discussions and some lecture or informational components. Active participation is expected, and the facilitator is guiding participants in knowledge acquisition or skill building. 
• Facilitated dialogues may have 1-2 guiding topics or questions, but flow in the direction participants take them. The facilitator creates intentional space for open discussion and ensures all participants feel heard and that the dialogue remains aligned with stated goals. The facilitator will ask questions to prompt discussion or invite participants to dig deeper, but is not necessarily positioned as a content expert in the room. 

We cannot provide workshops that are less than 90 minutes or dialogues less than 60 minutes. If scheduling enough time is a barrier for your group, we can accommodate shorter sessions over multiple dates.

Request an Outreach Presentation

Want to know more about LGBTQIA+ Student Services and how we can be a resource to you and/or your students? Invite us to come speak to your class, group or department. These presentations can range from brief, 15–20 minute overviews to 1–hour informational sessions covering some common questions about LGBTQIA2S+ students and experiences at Whitman. 

Please submit outreach presentation requests at least one week in advance of your preferred date(s).
