Lakum Duckum
Nowhere else but Whitman would a geo-thermal spring with its own raft of ducks be named with a Latin pun. This historic spot is so enticing and aquatically toasty that Walla Walla’s ducks don’t even bother to migrate. They just can’t tear themselves away from this waterfowl hot tub. Students frequently congregate at water’s edge, studying or study-breaking amid the spring lilies or fall foliage. Stone benches built into the surrounding boulders provide a perch for ducks and humans alike.
