Campus Sustainability Coordinator
Brandon received his Masters of Public Administration from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs School of Public Affairs (2016). In 2015 he received a graduate certificate in Public Management. His research emphasis continues to center around education policy and sustainable development. While attending the UCCS School of Public Affairs he was initiated into Pi Alpha Alpha the international Honor Society for Public Administration. He was recognized by the School of Public Affairs as the 2016 Outstanding Student Award for Public Administration. At UCCS Brandon served as the Energy and Water Conservation Supervisor in the school's Office of Sustainability. Within this role Brandon expanded the institutions Energy and Water Conservation program and developed the schools Green Laboratory program. He was instrumental in the institutions recognition as a 2016 US Department of Education Green Ribbon School, and worked on a number of projects to meet the school's American College and University President's Climate Commitment (and institutional Climate Action Plan.) Prior to his time at UCCS Brandon worked on several local, state, and national political campaigns. He is interested in public policy and law and has served as campaign manager, legal assistant, and a judicial intern. Brandon received his B.A. in Political Science with a minor in United States History from the University of Nevada, Reno. (2011) During his academic career at the University of Nevada he was active in student organizations and served two terms as the Senator of the College of Liberal Arts (2009-2011), two terms as President of the College of Liberal Arts Advisory Board (2010-2011), and one term as the Speaker of the Senate of the Associated Students (2010-2011)
In 2017 Brandon received his LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Associate Certification. Brandon currently serves on the Mill Creek Working Group a multi-agency advisory body for the management of the Mill Creek watershed. Since 2016 Brandon has served as a member of the City of Walla Walla Sustainability Committee. In 2018 Brandon was elected the Vice Chairman of this body. In addition to this role Brandon currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Sustainable Partnership of the Northern Rockies a bioregional partnership of colleges in Eastern Oregon, Eastern Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
