Whitman College Medieval Society
Eventually this will be a page full of resource lists. Here are a few for now, but check back later for more!
- The Society for Creative Anacronism (SCA)
- While not official affliated with the SCA, we attend many of their events throughout the year and many of our members are also SCA members. We are part of the Canton of Akornebir (Walla Walla area) but we go to a lot of events in the Barony of Wastekeep (Tri-cities).
- Whitman College Renaissance Faire
- Please note that while many WMS members are also part of Ren Faire, we are NOT the same club. The Ren Faire committee is in charge of planning the annual faire the last weekend in April along with several other events, including the Winterim Murder Mystery Dinner, throughout the academic year.
- Whitman College Fencing Club
- Once again a club with many shared members. The fencing club at Whitman starts off with classical Italian foil and once a student has reach as sufficient level, they can start learning other weapons such as epee, sabre and rapier.
- Academia della Spada
- This is a wonderful group of people in Seattle that teach period combat from pugilism (period boxing), to backsword, to rapier. If you are in Seattle and have any interest in learning the combat techniques of the Middles Ages and Renaissance, I highly recommend joining this group. The Whitman Fencing Club attends a large number of the academy's events throughout the semester.
