Temporary position: Bookstore Bag Checker

Purpose: Bookstore bag checkers work during Opening Week and other periods of high volume traffic in the store. They provide a service to customers by ensuring the safety of their belongings while they shop. They play an important role in the Bookstore’s operation during our busiest season.

Pay: Minimum wage ($8.67)

Duration: 2-4 hour shifts will be assigned during Bookstore operating hours (9:00 a.m. – 5:45 p.m.) on Thursday, August 25 – Thursday, September 2 (including weekend).

Qualifications: Applicants should have the following characteristics:

Professionalism
Dependability
Honesty
Ability to work independently and with limited supervision
Friendliness, desire to provide customer service
An open schedule/lack of conflicting activities during opening week
2 employer or character references – preferably on-campus names from a professor or campus job
