Middlebury in Cordoba, Spain

Through Middlebury College, Whitman students may enroll at the Universidad de Córdoba in southern Spain. As the third oldest existing university in the Andalucia region, it boasts a student population of over 21,000 students. Those students are enrolled in the university's 39 degree programs. Students studying on this program also will have the opportunity to enjoy many cultural activities in this city of 300,000 people.

Fields of study:

Art history, history, religion, literature, politics and psychology

Eligibility:

At least five semesters of college-level Spanish or the equivalent and a 3.0 GPA in college Spanish courses

Semesters Offered:

Academic Year, Spring Semester

Calendar:

Mid-September-early July; early February-early July

Credits:

16 credits per semester

Credit Conversion:

1 Middlebury course = 4 Whitman credits

Housing:

In apartments with Spanish or international students. Middlebury requires that students not live with English speakers.

Meals:

Students prepare their own meals or eat at one of the many restaurants and cafés throughout the city.

Internships:

Internships are available in various fields, but must be arranged through Middlebury prior to going to Spain.
