Manager, ASWC Sound and Lights
Job Description
The Manager of ASWC Sound and Lights is a member of the crew and manages individual events. The Manager is responsible for the maintenance of equipment and reporting any problems to the Director of ASWC Sound and Lights. The Manager should perform simple repairs if possible without voiding any effective warranties. The Manager leads and oversees event setups and must be on call whenever equipment is in use. Events are almost entirely evenings and weekends. Compensation will be provided for this necessary sacrifice. The Manager and the Director must work closely to determine feasibility of events as well as future equipment needs. The Manager will assist the Director in completing performance reviews of crew members. The Manager should be the point of contact for any equipment-related problems. The Manager is also responsible for training new crew members in the use of ASWC Sound and Lights equipment. The position of Manager lasts a minimum of one fiscal year and applicants should be able to commit to this. Preference may be given to applicants who can commit to two years. The newly-hired Manager will begin training with the existing Manager upon confirmation. Training of the new Manager will last all of Spring semester and training of crew members will be an ongoing process.
