Where: Maxey 306

When: Tuesday, December 7, 7:00 PM

Details:

Whitman alumnus, Curt Bowen '08, will give a presentation on Semilla Nueva, a non-profit founded with Joseph Bornstein '08. The presentation will address the challenges rural farmers face from climate change and trade liberalization, including the effects of this year's tropical storm Agatha.  Semilla Nueva works to support the organization of small farmers and the use of sustainable alternatives versus chemically intensive agriculture. If you are interested in sustainable development or the challenges of starting a non-profit in a foreign country, come learn about the experience of a former Whittie.
