April 18: The Trail in Our Cells - Genetics and Human Migration
John Jamison was raised in Walla Walla, then spent a career teaching in Seattle. He did graduate work on the prehistory, archaeology, and early history of the Aegean region, acquiring a working knowledge of Mycenaean Greek and its script, Linear B. Beginning in the 1980s, he taught physics at Lakeside School in Seattle, creating innovative courses blending modern history and 20th-century physics. He returned to Walla Walla in 2003 in search of a somewhat quieter life, and is busier than ever writing, teaching at Walla Walla Community College, and serving on the board of the Walla Walla Symphony.
