The Mentor Intern assists with all aspects of the Whitman Mentor Program. Duties include mentor recruitment and selection, matching mentors and mentees, planning and facilitating orientation and ongoing trainings, managing the Mentor Program budget, organizing transportation, corresponding with mentors and with Intervention Specialists (school counselors), and coordinating Mentor Meet Ups and Mentees to Campus Day (including rentals, volunteers, and publicity).
This position runs September – May and is designed to train the Mentor Intern to become the Lead Mentor Intern during the Spring. All Community Service Interns are also required to assist the other members of the team with community service events throughout the year.
Work study eligibility preferred but not required. At least one year as a Whitman Mentor and an interest in strengthening the Mentor Program. In addition, the position requires an enthusiastic, flexible, and self-directed individual with good organization, communication, and decision-making skills.
