Oaks Top Wolves to Close Out BB Tourney

WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- Menlo College evened its season record at 6-6 with a 74-54 victory over Walla Walla University in Sunday afternoon's finale of the Kim Evanger Raney Memorial Classic in Sherwood Center on the Whitman College campus.

Erika Garcia, who was named to the all-tournament team, paced Menlo with 23 points, seven steals and four rebounds. She made ten of her 16 field goal attempts, including two of three from the 3-point line.
Brittany Taylor and Bryanna Batts added 10 points apiece for the Oaks, who rolled to a 50-24 halftime lead and then held off Walla Walla in the second half.
Elisa Ayla snared 12 rebounds for Menlo, which outboarded Walla Walla 48-32.
Nicke Parks combined 21 points with eight rebounds and four blocked shots to pace Walla Walla, which saw its season record slip to 1-12.
Heather McFadden had 13 points, three rebounds, three steals and three assists for Walla Walla.
