Position Title:  Scultpture Studio Assistant/Wood & Metal Shop Monitor 

Description of Position:

Two Positions available; 5 hours per week, per person

This position is for those experienced in either wood or metal shop machines and processes, and preferably for those who have completed the Beginning Sculpture course ARTS 160. Training and safety procedures will be reiterated and remain a top priority for those working as Studio Assistants. Monitoring of the Wood and Metal Shops will fluctuate somewhat throughout the semester, according to student need and project due dates, but each Studio Assistant will be expected to work 5hrs./week.

Duties will be split between cleaning and maintenance of the labs, help with class demos, prepping of materials for classes, and actual hands-on work helping students complete their projects during monitored hours, which will occur from 7-10pm on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Other time, including possible (but not mandatory) additional hours, may be spent helping me prepare work for shows, build crates, etc.

Wage:
$10.00 Hour, Priority will be given to those eligible for Washington State and Federal Work Study.

Skills/Background:
Experienced in either wood or metal shop machines and processes and preferably someone who has completed the Beginning Sculpture course ARTS 160.
