Michaels, an agile 6-foot-7 forward, was one of nine players representing the West All-Stars, which dropped a 109-105 decision to the East All-Stars.
The all-star game was played at the Salem Civic Center as a preliminary to the NCAA Division III national championship game. UW-Whitewater took home the national crown with a 63-60 victory over Cabrini.
Michaels, the Northwest Conference Player of the Year this past season, was one of five players who scored in double digits for the west all-stars. He also grabbed four rebounds and handed out two assists.
Weekend activities in Salem included a banquet for the Final Four teams (UW-Whitewater, Cabrini, MIT and Illinois Wesleyan) as well as the all-star game participants.
Michaels and other players also got the chance to visit a nearby elementary school, where they read to second grade students, and host a basketball clinic for Special Olympic athletes.
Michaels received his All-American honors last week from the D3hoops.com website.
