If Whitman College is your first choice college and you plan to enroll if you are admitted, we offer two different application due dates. If you have decided early in your senior year that Whitman is your first choice, you should submit your application credentials by November 15 (Early Decision I). If you decide that Whitman is your first choice after that date, you may apply by January 1 (Early Decision II).
Admission decisions will be mailed one month after each application due date. All Early Decision candidates who are also applying for financial aid will receive a financial aid notification packet shortly after the admission decision is received.
If you select one of our Early Decision options, please indicate so on the Biographical Information Form. Upon receipt of this form, we will mail the Early Decision Candidates Agreement for you to read and sign. The agreement states that Whitman is definitely your first-choice college, and, if admitted, you will attend Whitman and withdraw all applications pending elsewhere. We take this commitment very seriously and expect that you will also.
All parts of your application, as listed on the checklist, must be postmarked by November 15 for Early Decision I and January 1 for Early Decision II.
Whitman requires all applicants for need-based financial aid to submit the Profile to the processor by November 15 for Early Decision I applicants and January 5 for Early Decision II. The FAFSA should be submitted to the processor no later than January 5. It is important that you apply on time. If you have any questions about how to proceed, contact the Office of Financial Aid directly.

To complete an application for admission, Whitman requires either ACT scores, including the writing test, or SAT scores. These scores must be reported to us via an official score report from the testing agency or be listed on the official transcript from your high school. It is your responsibility to see that the scores are reported to us in a proper manner. Whitman’s CEEB code number is 4951; our ACT code number is 4492. Students whose native language is not English must also submit scores from the TOEFL and, if possible, the TWE exams.
