CIEE: Prague Central European Studies

Eligibility:

Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.  Prerequisite of one semester of college-level European studies recommended (i.e. history, sociology, economics, political science, or literature)

Fall, Spring, Academic Year

Calendar:

August –December, January – May

Credits:

16-18 semester credits - Required Courses:
Czech Language - (4 credits)
Four Area Studies Courses (3 credits each)

Credit Conversion:

1 CIEE credit = 1 Whitman credit

Housing:

Homestay with a Czech Family, room in a Charles University dormitory with CIEE and Czech students, or an apartment with CIEE students

Meals:

Homestay – Breakfast and dinner are provided based on individual family schedules.
Dormitory – Breakfast is included, students are responsible for their own lunch and dinner purchased at either local restaurants or have access to a modest kitchenette in the dormitory
Apartments – Students cook for themselves in apartment kitchen

Internships:

Internships are available in public and private sector organizations such as NGOs, schools, and English language training programs.
