WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- In a replay from earlier in the season, the Linfield College women rallied from a 2-1 deficit after doubles to nip Whitman College 5-4 in a Saturday afternoon Northwest Conference tennis match in McMinnville, Ore.
The comeback keeps the Wildcats in second place in the conference standings with an 11-2 NWC record (12-4 overall). The hard-luck Missionaries slipped to 10-4 and 12-8.
Whitman seized the early advantage by winning two of three matches in doubles.
Seniors Divneet Kaur and Hadley DeBree won 8-2 at No. 2 while sophomore Emily Rolston and first-year Missionary Kate Kunkel-Patterson were 8-6 winners at No. 3.

The Wildcats rallied with wins in four of the six singles matches. Whitman picked up its only points at No. 4, where Kaur won a three-set decision (6-4, 3-6, 10-4), and at No. 6, where Kunkel-Patterson notched a 6-4, 6-4 triumph.
In the marquee match-up at No. 1 singles, Linfield's Abby Olbrich avenged an earlier defeat to Roberg with a 6-4, 6-2 win.
