WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- Hitting the courts with a blend of experience and youth, Whitman College opened its women's tennis season with an emphatic 9-0 Northwest Conference victory over Puget Sound Friday night in the Bratton Tennis Center.
Junior Elise Otto and senior Divneet Kaur were 8-2 winners at No. 1 doubles, but a sophomore and two rookies helped the Missionaries complete their opening sweep in doubles.
Senior Hadley DeBree and first-year teammate Alyssa Roberg posted an 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles, and it was sophomore Emily Rolston teaming with newcomer Kate Kunkel-Patterson for an 8-2 triumph at No. 3.
