Yearbook photographer

The Photographer should love taking photographs, and be open to taking on different photography assignments.  The majority of our photos come from submissions, but a photographer is needed to fill in the gaps.

We plan to hire 1 Photographer, who will have the following responsibilities:

  • Have a flexible schedule
  • Be organized and submitting photo assignments in a timely manner, as determined by the Photo Editor and Section Editors.
  • Submitting captions with their images, whenever feasible
  • Contributing to discussions about content and theme of the yearbook

The ideal candidate for this position will be motivated, organized and reliable. A good photographic eye and the ability to assert oneself to get the best shot are essential. Previous experience on a yearbook staff is appreciated, but not necessary. Applicants who can demonstrate previous photo work will be given priority. However, willingness to learn is the primary requirement.

This is intended to be a yearlong commitment, but arrangements can be made for individuals who plan to be off-campus for one semester. All yearbook staff members will be paid on a per-photo basis for their efforts.

To apply: fill out the Photographer form below, then save and send it as an attachment to editor@whitmanyearbook.com before Sunday September 9th . Interviews will be held as applications come in.
