WALLA WALLA, Wash. - The Whitman College men's golf team, in southern California this weekend for the St. Paddy Day's Invitational, found itself stuck in the clubhouse again on Sunday as continuing rain storms in the Beaumont, Calif., area forced cancellation of the 36-hole tournament.

The inclement weather washed away Saturday's opening round at the Tukwet Canyon Golf Course, but tournament organizers were hoping to salvage part of the event on Sunday.

The wet, windy conditions persisted, however, prompting the cancellation.

To compensate for the missed tournament, Whitman will battle the University of Redlands in an 18-hole dual match on Tuesday in the San Diego area.
