Whitman faculty discuss the 2012 Summer Read Program selection, The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America's Great Migration from a number of interdisciplinary perspectives. This event serves as an introduction for new students to the intellectual community at Whitman, and a point of departure for discussion with their Resident Asistants and Students Academic Advisors after the panel.

Faculty panelists include:

Helen Kim, associate professor of sociology

James Russo, associate professor of biochemistry, biophysics and molecular biology

Doug Scarborough, assistant professor of music.

Moderated by Timothy Kaufman-Osborn, provost and dean of the faculty.
