Story Time Intern

The Story Time Project Intern is responsible for all aspects of the Story Time Project. Duties include: recruiting new and returning readers and community partners, selecting and training volunteer readers, matching readers with reading locations, organizing transportation as needed, maintaining the storybook library (including check out, late fees, and book acquisition), managing the Story Time budget, and keeping the lines of communication open between the Community Service Office, volunteers, and community partners.

The Story Time Project Intern will be involved in the coordination of Dr. Seuss Day and other children's literacy programs.  All Community Service Interns are also required to assist the other members of the team with community service events throughout the year.

Qualifications: 

At least one semester as a Story Time Reader and an interest in strengthening the Story Time Project.  In addition, the position requires a self-directed individual with good organizational and communication skills, good problem-solving techniques, and a love of children's literature.
